Questions about Campaigns & Segmentation

Segmentation

Segments are groups of subscribers filtered by conditions you define — like order history, custom fields, or sign-up source. You can create as many segments as you need, and they update automatically as subscriber data changes. When you send a campaign, you choose which segment to target.

Custom fields are data points you define for your brand — things like flavor preference, clothing size, or VIP tier. You can capture them through sign-up forms, text-based conversations (AudienceTap can ask questions and store the answers), or import them via CSV. Once captured, you can segment and personalize campaigns based on any custom field.

Yes. AudienceTap tracks order history at the product level through your Shopify integration. You can create segments like "bought Product X," "ordered from Category Y," or "hasn't purchased in 60 days" and target campaigns accordingly.

Campaigns

Yes. You can schedule any campaign to send at a specific date and time, or send it immediately. Scheduled campaigns can be edited or canceled anytime before the send window.

Every order placed through a campaign is tied directly to that specific message. There's no last-click guessing or shared attribution with email. If a customer replies to buy after receiving your campaign text, that revenue is attributed to the campaign — clearly and unambiguously.

There's no limit on the number of campaigns. You're only limited by your messaging credits. Each outbound message costs one credit, and inbound replies from customers are always free.

RCS Messaging

RCS (Rich Communication Services) is the next generation of text messaging. Instead of plain text, RCS supports interactive buttons, rich media, carousels, branded sender profiles, and read receipts — making messages feel more like a mobile app experience. Think of it as SMS with superpowers.

RCS is currently in development and coming soon. We're building it with automatic SMS fallback so every message reaches every customer, regardless of their device. Early access will be available to existing merchants first.
